DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.....
There are some stories I hear and happenings around me that gets me all riled up!
Madam's name is Akanbi Kemi Egbukole.
She wakes up one morning to find the housemaid still sleeping....
How dare she sleep when madam is awake?
How dare she allow madam wake up before her?
And madam considers the punitive measure for this grave offence is baptism of scalding water on her teenage, still developing breasts.
That is commiserate penance for her sin!

This is what I have to say!
If you cannot treat another woman's child like your own, don't bother being a guardian to him or her.
The moment you accept a person as your domestic help, whether you are paying the person or not, you have automatically accepted to be the person's guardian.
Having the basic understanding that human frailty and offences will come is a safeguard.
The level of wickedness perpetrated by madams to their maids is disheartening!
Treating another person's child like she is worth nothing is wicked in itself!
You call your children so softly with pet names, but draw her attention by screaming obscene words at her.
Your children have siestas but she's your domestic robot..... After all, what is she here for?
She is the last to go to bed past midnight and the first to wake up quite early in the morning to prepare the children (whom she may not be quite older than) for school.
She can only eat when others must have had their fill. And her portion is usually the leftovers......
"We don't waste food in this house" they'll respond. Then why give greater portion that can't be consumed?
Meat, fish, eggs and beverages are out of bounds! "Do you eat them in your father's house?"
Most times, when they are out with the kids, with a single look, you can pick out the maid from the children. (I still can't get over my anger anytime I see this.)
The children dress smart and stylishly while the maid is in rumpled old clothes.
The worst creation ever is a wicked woman!!
Take it to the bank!
If you cannot take care of another like your own child, then why bother taking her and making her life more miserable?
Isn't it enough that she is facing hardships because of a humble background?
Some maids can be double trouble, I agree.
But if you know you can't put up with her vices, please send her home.
But know that the real test of motherhood is in your dealings with other people's children under your care.
Besides, that maid you spat on today maybe your saving grace tomorrow.
This world is twisted and unpredictable. Madams should be more careful.
I'll be back!
